I was also delighted to welcome two of the people involved in the ‘chain of survival’ that enabled me to survive last year’s cardiac arrest. These are Judy Lewis who started the ball rolling with CPR and Dr Derek Connolly who put stents in my coronary arteries, at Birmingham’s City Hospital, to restore my heart’s circulation.

Radio WM really went to town with the event on Alex Lester’s breakfast programme. I made the main news at 6, 7, 8 and 9am and you can also hear interviews with Judy, Mike Bennett, our tutor, and some of those attending the course.
