According to the British Heart Foundation 30,000 people have a cardiac arrest each year. Fewer than one in ten of these people will survive. Cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time – and without warning. Knowing how to perform CPR could double someone’s chances of surviving it. Listen to the real-life CPR hero Andy, who saved someone’s life by performing CPR in a familiar, yet seemingly unlikely, place.
The worrying thing, and it’s a familiar story, is that everyone else was standing, looking at the victim, and doing nothing. This is exactly why CPR Counts was formed – to give more cardiac arrest victims a better chance of survival – giving more people the confidence to ‘have a go’.
This is…
FAR, FAR BETTER THAN DOING NOTHING
With thanks to Stewart who who sent this story to us.
