It is currently estimated that the survival rate for out of hospital cardiac arrest is less than 9%. Two of the most important factors influencing survival are the early use of effective CPR and early defibrillation. GoodSAM works with ambulance services across England and the UK, alerting people trained in CPR to nearby cardiac arrests whilst an ambulance is on the way. If you’re a healthcare professional, first aider, or if you want to learn more, visit the GoodSAM App to sign-up as a trained first responder and help to increase the chances of survival from cardiac arrest.
